ABOUT
Aoife Mc Namara is a registered speech-language pathologist and reading consultant. She holds a masters degree in speech-language therapy and a clinical certificate from Speech-Language & Audiology Canada with accredited professional interest in language and literacy development. She has experience working in both the public school system and private practice.
Aoife has a special interest in treating dyslexia and is trained in the Sounds-Write, Orton Gillingham and Lively Letters reading approaches. She has completed extensive post-graduate training in reading and language disorders, most recently Supporting Knowledge in Language & Literacy (SKILL) and The Pattan 2020 Literacy Symposium. She is an advocate for the use of proven, scientific treatments for reading and language difficulties.
Aoife is also experienced in treating children and adults with speech sound and fluency (i.e., stuttering) disorders.
She is an instructor for the Vancouver School Board EA Diploma Program and is an international ambassador for raising awareness of Developmental Language Disorder.
